COVID-19

How are you managing the COVID-19 risk?
As an outdoor event, The Big Bounce New Zealand is already in the ‘low risk’ category with regards to the transmission of COVID-19. However, as a company, we are committed to producing a safe and secure event and this commitment extends to all matters relating to the pandemic.
Our event will adhere to the prevailing restrictions, mandates and health advice in each location we visit throughout the course of our 2021 tour. During the pre-event permitting process we will work alongside local authorities to ensure that the event is compliant and meets all of the necessary COVID-19 policies of each specific jurisdiction.
Alongside this we have proactively initiated new policies to help mitigate against the continued risk posed by COVID-19. These precautionary measures have been developed as part of our COVID-19 specific Risk Assessment to help ensure a ‘COVID Safe’ event. Some examples are detailed below:
- Hand Sanitizer stations will be positioned throughout the event site. Customers will be required to sanitize their hands before entry to each attraction.
- Enhanced cleaning protocols will be in place and will include a focus on the regular cleaning of high touch areas between sessions as well as our regular deep cleaning schedule for all attractions.
- Dedicated toilet attendants will be on site at each event to ensure the cleanliness of all surfaces in this area.
- Where social distancing restrictions remain in place we will be limiting capacity to the event site and to specific attractions as well as providing space markings in areas where lines form.
- As part of the booking process customers must confirm that they will not attend the event if they are displaying any known symptoms of COVID-19.

Frequently Asked questions
The Event
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?
Please aim to arrive around 30 minutes before the session you have purchased tickets for and head to our check-in tent. We’ll quickly check your tickets so please have these printed or ready to show on your mobile phone. We’ll then exchange your tickets for wristbands so you’re ready to enter your session at your scheduled time.
Access to The Giant and airSPACE is unlimited during your 3 hour session, but access to The World’s Biggest Jumping Castle is during your allotted time slot only. This is to ensure there is no overcrowding and everyone has room to enjoy themselves. To make the most of your time on the jumping castle remember to queue up to enter ahead of your allotted start time.
WHAT IF I'M LATE TO MY SESSION?
WHO CAN TAKE PART IN THE BIG BOUNCE? IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?
Anyone aged 0-100 is welcome! But to keep everyone safe we’ve split each session into different age groups. ‘Toddler Sessions’ are exclusively for parents/carers with children aged 3 and under (ages 0-3). ‘Junior Sessions’ are for kids aged 7 and under (ages 0-7). Their parents/carers can join them too although they will also need to buy a separate ticket. ‘Bigger Kids ‘ sessions have the same rules but for children aged 15 and under (ages 0-15), while ‘Adult Only Sessions’ are open to anyone aged 16 and over. Please read the ‘Session Types’ menu above for a full list of ticket details and rules.
DO ALL CHILDREN NEED ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT?
No. Only children aged 3 and under must be accompanied into the inflatables by a paying parent/carer with their own ticket.
I'm a parent, do I need a ticket?
It’s free for parents to attend the event with their children. However, if you want to enter any of our inflatable attractions along with your children you will require your own individual ticket. Simply purchase an additional ticket to the same session/time slot that your kids are attending.
For safety we do require that any kids 3 & under are accompanied into the inflatables by a paying parent/carer with their own ticket.
IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE LIMIT?
Only on the Adult Only Sessions where everyone must be aged 16 or over. At every other session there is only an upper age limit, not a lower age limit. This is to avoid splitting families up who have children with varying ages. However, we do ask parents/carers to be mindful of the potential hazards associated with allowing their smaller children into a session designed for older children. We run a safe event and we have multiple staff working throughout our event to ensure safety and good behaviour. However, children will be children and we strongly recommend that children aged 4-7 attend our ‘Junior Session’ and children aged 3 and under attend our ‘Toddlers Session’.
HOW LONG DOES EACH SESSION LAST?
There will also be plenty of seating, shaded areas and food vendors for those who want some downtime, and spectators who want to kick back and watch the fun unfold.
WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR TO TAKE PART?
Bouncing and having this much fun in the outdoors will require some energy. So we suggest you dress in something to keep cool. The only restrictions we have are ‘no shoes’ and ‘no bare feet’. We have awesome branded ‘gripper socks’ available for purchase on the day or you can bring socks of your own. There will be a covered inflatable ‘shoe zone’ to leave shoes before you enter. Comfort is key! As the weather is unpredictable – we suggest wearing knee length or full length trousers whilst you bounce!
WHAT GOES ON INSIDE THE BIG BOUNCE?
Inside the jumping castle we have inflatable activities and challenges (basketball hoops, obstacle runs etc), inflatable chill out areas (big boats, oversized sofas, palm trees etc), inflatable animals and characters for you to grab a photo with, slides, ball pits and all manner of awesome entertainment.
WHAT GOES ON OUTSIDE THE THREE EXPERIENCES?
More than just a bounce session, this is an actual day out – One ticket, THREE awesome experiences!
We have a variety of inflatable chill-out zones! Bouncers can recover and mums and dads can hang out in the shade, whilst the kids enjoy their sessions. We will have food and drink available at most of our events. Our MC will be roaming the Big Bounce site getting everyone vibed before each session starts! So, come down early and make a real day out of all that we have to offer.
CAN WE COME AS SPECTATORS?
While it won’t be possible to spectate on what’s going on inside the bouncer everyone is welcome to come down to our site and no ticket is required to enter the grounds. We’ll have various food vendors and plenty seating available for those with or without a ticket.
Tickets will only be required if bouncing on the inflatables. For safety we do require that any kids 3 & under are accompanied into the inflatables by a paying parent/carer with their own ticket.
DO WE NEED TO BE SUPER-FIT TO ATTEND?
Absolutely not. The Big Bounce experience can be as high energy or as low energy as you want. Come in and jump around, or chill out on one of our inflatable sofas the whole time, watching the world bounce by. It’s entirely up to you!
